Organization accounts

Organization accounts provide centralized management and billing for teams using Geolitix. This corporate-level solution offers shared workspaces, pooled licensing, and streamlined project management for larger organizations. With an organization account, administrators can manage team members centrally while maintaining flexible licensing through a hot seat system that allows licenses to be shared across the organization.

Workspaces

Organization accounts introduce the concept of multiple workspaces.

A workspace is your project environment in Geolitix - it contains all your projects, folders, and associated resources. Think of it as your dedicated work area where you organize and access your projects.

Users can easily switch between their personal workspace and the company workspace using the workspace selector in the top right corner of the interface.

Personal Workspace

Each user maintains their own personal workspace outside the organization. Personal projects and individual licenses remain separate from the organization, allowing users to continue working on personal projects independently.

Company Workspace

The company workspace is a shared organizational environment where company projects are stored. All team members have access to the company workspace, and company licenses are only available when working in this workspace.

User Management

Organization administrators have full control over user management and can add or remove team members as needed. To add users, administrators navigate to the organization settings and add team members by email. Once added, users will have access to the company workspace and can utilize available company licenses.

Note: User accounts must already exist before adding them to the organization

Only organization administrators can remove team members from the organization. When users are removed through the organization settings interface, they lose access to the company workspace but retain their personal workspace. This ensures that administrators maintain complete control over who has access to company resources while preserving individual users' personal work environments.

Licenses

Organization licenses operate on a "hot seat" system where licenses are shared across the organization rather than assigned to specific individuals. This means you can purchase licenses based on concurrent usage needs rather than total team size. For example, if you have 8 team members but only 4 work simultaneously, you only need 4 licenses.

When users work on projects in the company workspace, they automatically check out an available license from the pool. Licenses are released when users finish their work session or switch to their personal workspace. It's important to note that company licenses only work for projects located in the company workspace - personal workspace projects require individual licenses.

Organization administrators are responsible for purchasing and managing the license pool. License costs remain the same as individual account pricing, providing flexibility to adjust the license count based on actual concurrent usage patterns. This system ensures efficient resource allocation while maintaining the same pricing structure as individual accounts.
